Renaissance Association of Parents is made up of all the families in our school community. We welcome your involvement!

As everyone knows, quality education is one of the most important gifts we can give our children and American Renaissance School benefits from the money raised and donated by RAP each year. Our fundraising efforts boost the technology fund, which has provided SMART boards for the classrooms, upgrades to the school internet system, and new computers.

Here are the main areas that RAP focuses on:

RAP sponsors Community Building events through out the school year- these are low cost, wear your comfy clothes, bring your family and get to know others, hands on crafts for the kids, and something to snack on events. For the 2011 – 12 school year, our two big events are the Recycled Holiday party and the “Spring- a- ling celebration”. In the future, with support of our volunteers, more events will be added to the calendar! In 2012, RAP is adding some Family Fun Events- giving us time to enjoy our friends and family away from the school setting.

RAP supports the school technology fund each year by having Fundraisers. Our fundraising goal is $35,000 for this school year! RAP’s main projects to attain this goal are:

1)    Discount card sales- also supports local businesses

2)    RAP Wear sales- t-shirts and sweatshirts that can be worn as uniforms

3)    Ice cream treat sales- Friday afternoon delivery for students

4)    Directory sales- currently in print form only

5)    Basket raffle ticket sales- imagine what you could win for $1 per entry!

6)    Book fair purchases- the benefit to ARS from book fair sales are new SMART boards for our student classrooms

RAP also has a “Sunshine Club” which remembers staff birthdays, raises funds for long term staff illnesses, and oversees the general appreciation for staff at ARS. Quarterly meetings feature a craft project- hand made cards, coasters, other items to share with staff.
